Instructions
- Warm the milk and pour into a small bowl. Add the yeast and 1 teaspoon of the sugar and stir through. Set to one side to allow the yeast to start to bubble.
- In another bowl place the flour, the rest of the sugar and the salt. Add the oil. Pour in the milk and yeast mixture.
Using a fork start to mix the dough together. - Once it starts to form a dough tip out onto a lightly floured surface and start to knead. Knead the dough for approximately 10 minutes until it is nice and smooth.
Place a little oil in the bottom of a bowl and coat the dough in the oil. Cover with a damp cloth and leave in a warm place for at least an hour to prove. - Take the cooked pork, cut into small cubes and place in a bowl. Chop the chives and add to the pork. Add the Soy Sauce, Hoisin and Sesame Seeds and mix together.
- Once the dough has doubled in size remove from the bowl and place onto a warm, floured surface. Cut into 8 equal size pieces and roll into a ball. Use a rolling to roll out flat circles about 5-6 inches / 12-15cm in diameter.
Place a spoonful of the pork mixture into the centre of the dough.
Then take the edge of the dough and pinch together over the pork mixture to form a tight seal.
Place each dough ball onto a small square of waxed paper and place into a steamer. Cover with a lid and steam over simmering water for about 20 minutes. - Once cooked remove from the steamer and your steamed buns are ready to be served. Serve with a little Soy Sauce and enjoy.
