How to make Halloween Witches Hat Cookies
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook temperature: 160C / 320F
Cook Time: 2o minutes
Ingredients
For the Cookie
- 100g / 3.5oz of Softened Butter
- 150g / 5oz of Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 250g / 9oz of All Purpose / Plain Flour
- 2 teaspoons of Baking Powder
- 100g / 3.5oz of Chocolate Chips or Chunks
For the Frosting
- 90g / 3oz of Softened Butter
- 180g / 6oz / 1.5cups of Icing / Confectioners Sugar
- Orange food Colour
- Hersheys Kisses
Makes about 16 Cookies

- Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl, then add the egg and mix well. Drop in the flour, baking powder and the chocolate chips and mix together until a dough starts to form.
Continue mixing with your hands until you have a nice cookie dough. - Divide the dough into 40g / 1.5oz pieces, roll into smooth cookie balls and place the balls on a cookie sheet allowing room so they can spread a little. Put into a preheated oven 160C / 320F for 20 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
- Once cool make the frosting for the cookies. Place the butter into a bowl and sieve in the icing sugar. Cream together to form a smooth frosting. Add in the orange food colour and mix through. Place the frosting into a piping bag and snip off the end.
- Holding the piping bag vertically above the cookie, pipe a small amount of frosting in the centre. Top the frosting with a Hersheys Kiss and push down gently.
