If your family is anything like mine you can go through quite a bit of Tomato Ketchup.

I began researching to see if I could make my own recipe and my kids agree this is pretty close to store bought ketchup and they love it.

So here is a really easy Recipe for Tomato Sauce. This can be made in minutes and store for many weeks.

Let me know if you give it a try.

Instructions

  1. Place the tomato paste into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix the onion powder with the hot water and stir thoroughly. Pour onto the tomato paste.
  3. Add the sugar, mustard powder, cinnamon, salt, clove and all spice into the bowl. Lastly add the white vinegar into the mix.
  4. Take a whisk and whisk together all the ingredients. As you whisk the sauce will thicken.
  5. I pour this into an old ketchup bottle that I have cleaned and sterilised.
Allow the ketchup to stand overnight before using to let all the spices thoroughly absorb into the sauce.
