How to make Nasi Ulam
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes for the Rice
Ingredients
- Fresh Galangal
- Lemongrass
- Shallots
- Fresh Ginger Flower
- Wild Beetle Leaves
- Turmeric Leaves
- Cekur Leaves
- Fresh Mint Leaves
- Kafir Lime Leaves
- Polygonum or Laksa Leaves
- Fresh Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of White Pepper
- 1 teaspoon of Roasted Belacan
- 4 teaspoons of Salted Fish
- 4 Teaspoons of Dried Shrimp
- 3 teaspoons of Toasted Grated Coconut
- 4 cups of Cooked Rice

Instructions
- Cook the rice and allow to cool.
- Finely slice / chiffonade the
- Fresh Galangal
- Lemongrass
- Shallots
- Fresh Ginger Flower
- Fresh Turmeric
- Layer and finely slice /chiffonade the
- Wild Beetle Leaves
- Turmeric Leaves
- Cekur Leaves
- Fresh Mint Leaves
- Kafir Lime Leaves
- Polygonum or Laksa Leaves
- Place the rice into a bowl and add the fresh turmeric.Stir through the rice until an even colour.
- Add the pepper, belacan, salted fish, dried shrimp and toasted coconut and stir into the rice well between each ingredient.
- Now add the lemon grass, shallots and ginger flower and gently combine with the rice.
- Lastly add the finely sliced leaves, stir through to complete the dish.
- Your Nasi Ulam is ready to be served and enjoyed. Yum Yum!
