How to make Candied Lemons
Prep Time: 2 Minutes
Cook Time: At least 45-60 Minutes
Ingredients
- Lemons – in this recipe I used 2 lemons
- Boiling Water to Blanch the lemons in
- Iced Water to cool the slices down quickly
- 1 cup of Water
- 3/4 of a cup of Powdered Sugar

Instructions
- Slice the lemons into thin slices. Place into a pot of boiling water for 1-2 minutes to blanch them and remove some of the bitterness. Remove from the boiling water and plunge into iced water to cool quickly.
- In another pan add a cup of water and the powdered sugar. Stir and bring to the boil to dissolve the sugar. Gently add the lemon slices and reduce the heat until the liquid is just simmering.
- Cook gently for 45-60 minutes until the slices have become translucent.
- Place onto a draining rack or waxed paper to cool and them place in the fridge to completely cool down.
- Your lemon slices are now ready to be used. I made a little cut to the centre so they could be twisted and placed on top of my delicious Lemon Cheesecake.
